Dawn

A stagnant world in transition you live in

as started this very day

no matter where you are or where you live

no matter how much you have

or even how much you give

pleasant welcomes in every way

with new responsibility

soon dawn the new day

but before first light dents the old night sky

blending all darkness

the slightest bit lighter

this first morning light so brave of a fighter

to bring out new day in our waiting eyes

given this gift without question

given this chance without doubt

but new day can’t be born

till the old night dies

and turns down a more distant route

As the mere light of a candle

is disburst through the heavens

and thank for this light

which’ll soon bring new day

the power and might of each one of the sevens

First and foremost, the glorious mist

slowly bonding with all

throughout the dense night

all being well kissed

still so long before light

a mmmuh to you, and to you

and to all she will give

relax…it won’t hurt

she’d say if she could

and call her a flirt, if anyone would

but a call this precious doesn’t need

for come on her own

and she cometh indeed

with arms agape and heart so pure

to the dry night air she brings her cure

and when she’s done

the base for morning is sown

Soon diligent crickets who chirp through night

brought quiet by sweet morning dew

though not a ray has yet peeped

from the soon coming sun

the battle for morning

is far from being won

when each it’s own blade of grass

it starts to chew

and thus their job chirping is done

Now passed on to their waking friends

birds of all feathers, species, and trends

changing shifts before the break of dawn

as new chirps are descending from the trees

the way they once rose from the lawn

.a most excited bunch by their sound

for the most obvious reason of all

with a very important job they are bound

so it’s an exciting day they bring round

as the break of day moves closer

it still hangs just out of reach

with the sky again, just the slightest bit lighter

it turns from black to dark blue as they preach

Forth someplace quiet far away

exactly where, no one can say

for important is not where or how

but that a patient rooster without a name

steps up on a rooftop and takes a bow

and then crows as if it were aflame

without an ounce of shame

or the least tad bit of sorrow

it yaks and clucks as if there’d be no tomorrow

singing so loudly and proudly

it’s heard from so very far

as if yelling and screaming

at that last twinkling star

telling it what they both know

that no matter how much we loved the show

it’s time has now come, and it must go

to twinkle it’s last twink goodbye

and turn invisible to your naked eye

be back tomorrow…don’t miss me…don’t cry

Then a sleeping child rolls over

enveloped in the sweetest of dreams

fists clutching at his wrinkled sheets

ready to tear at the seams

dreaming of the coming day

excited to soon be awake

with his future ahead

wish his thrill in your head

this one boy’s hope is all it will take

this one boys hope is all it will take

for the last holds of darkness to break

And a look outside

at an opening flower

the last of the team

adds it’s own magic power

as a dew drop on it’s leaf starts to gleam

sun struck with today’s first bright beam
